The U19s rounded off an extremely successful weekend for BVB by beating VfL Bochum 3-1 to ensure they stayed in touch with the teams at the top of the Bundesliga table. The only disappointing aspect of what was a fast-paced and intense local derby was the chance conversion, in the eyes of Dortmund boss Michael Skibbe.

His side had at least half a dozen gilt-edged opportunities and took three of them, with Giovanni Reyna breaking the deadlock in the 43rd minute and Alaa Bakir adding two more goals in the 58th and 90th minutes respectively.

BVB's first home game of the second half-season comes next Saturday (11:00 CET) when take on Wuppertaler SV.
