Over the course of the past few weeks, Borussia Dortmund – together with fan representatives and the Fan Affairs Department – has come up with various options relating to BVB season tickets and day tickets that have already been purchased. We would like to thank all the fans who have participated in the open, sometimes uncomfortable, but always constructive discussions.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR US

  • BVB is struggling with the current economic situation. The majority of BVB fans are affected by the COVID-19 crisis too; many are experiencing short-time work, declining revenue or even unemployment. We're therefore offering all fans a straightforward ticket refund (ticket price and, for day tickets, the pre-sale charge + postage too). We shall not make use of any future legal regulations that allow for refunds to be issued in the form of vouchers.
  • Supporting BVB must not boil down to a choice between a waiver or refund. We're therefore offering different options to deal with the tickets issue. A big thank you to the many fans who have informed us that they are waiving their right to a refund. We are happy about that – and, we'll be honest, it helps! But that decision ultimately lies with every individual fan. Please note: No choice, whatever the outcome may be, will have an impact on future BVB decisions.

DAY TICKETS FOR HOME GAMES

For day tickets that have already been purchased (derby and/or Bayern Munich), the following options apply.

  1. 100% refund in the form of an immediate bank transfer* (ticket price, pre-sale charge and postage)
  2. Waiver of refund
  3. Waiver of refund (19.09% of the amount that is waived is put at the disposal of the "leuchte auf" foundation)

Every individual fan will be personally contacted by us over the coming 14 days and provided with an individual link, which will direct them to the aforementioned options.

*In the event the option of a refund is chosen, it will be made immediately on a goodwill basis. Legally, there is only a basis for a refund once a final decision has been made as to whether a game does not take place at all, takes place without spectators, or had to be abandoned.

DAY TICKETS FOR AWAY GAMES

For day tickets that have already been purchased (Wolfsburg, Paderborn), the following applies:

Borussia Dortmund sells the away ticket allocation on a fiduciary basis on behalf of the respective organiser. BVB will reimburse the ticket fees immediately and in full as soon as the host club, as the event organiser, releases the funds that were deposited in trust. This has not yet happened. We are currently holding talks with the clubs in question and will approach each individual who has purchased a ticket as soon as further information is available.

We have already reimbursed the full day ticket price for our UEFA Champions League away match against Paris St. Germain, which had to be played in an empty Parc des Princes stadium.

SEASON TICKETS

Each season ticket holder is entitled to a pro rata refund if a match does not take place, is abandoned or takes place without spectators. If one of these scenarios occurs, fans have the following options:

  1. Proportional reimbursement in the form of transfers following the respective matches
  2. Residual credit remains with BVB as a down-payment on the season ticket for the 2020/21 campaign
  3. Waiver of the pro-rata refund (19.09% of the amount that is waived will be made available to the "leuchte auf" foundation)
  4. Waiver of the refund (a free-of-charge BVB shirt of your choice for the 2020/21 season)

Every individual fan will be personally contacted by us over the coming 14 days and provided with an individual link, which will direct them to the aforementioned options.

SEASON TICKETS FOR 2020/21

Due to the COVID-19 crisis and the constant state of change at present, the letters containing all the relevant information about season tickets for the 2020/2021 campaign will not be sent out in May as usual, but only when it becomes possible to start our planning for the coming season. We will keep all the fans up to date.
