Borussia Dortmund's U23s also got back into training on Friday after a break of almost three months – of course observing the social distancing regulations and in smaller groups. Following coach Mike Tullberg's switch to the U19s, assistant coach David Solga, goalkeeping coach Thomas Feldhoff and athletics coach Alexander Ulbricht are currently taking charge of the training sessions.

"We are glad that we can train again too. After almost three months of individual training at home or in the park, the boys can hardly wait to finally kick a few balls with their teammates," says Ingo Preuß, sporting director of the U23s. "I am also looking forward to training with the guests from the U19s, who are now on the brink of entering the senior set-up." In Mert Göckan, Reda Khadra, Malte Wengerowski, Ramzi Ferjani, Alaa Bakir and Dominik Schönebeck, there are currently seven A-Youth players training with the U23s, who are nominally still U19 players until the end of June. Ingo Preuß can also welcome back two players from long-term injuries: after almost a year of suffering, Patrick Osterhage and Haymenn Bah-Traore are back with the team. The plan for the time being is to train for the next two weeks, then the players are expected to go on holiday. It is not yet known when exactly the preparations and the season itself will start again.
