Before the domestic campaign gets under way, a number of Borussia Dortmund players will be away on international duty. A total of 15 Black & Yellows have been called up.

Germany coach Joachim Löw has called up the BVB trio of Julian Brandt, Emre Can and Nico Schulz to the senior squad. Youssoufa Moukoko made the Germany U20 squad for the first time, where he will join Luca Unbehaun. Ansgar Knauff will be with the Germany U19s. New signing Jude Bellingham was called up to the England U21s for the first time, having previously represented his country at U17 level. Another Borussia Dortmund new boy, Thomas Meunier, has been called up to the Belgium squad, as have team-mates Axel Witsel and Thorgan Hazard. (cr)
