Good news for all season ticket holders who missed out on the raffle for the tickets for the home game next Saturday against SC Freiburg, which concluded this afternoon – and good news for all club members of Borussia Dortmund: the city of Dortmund has granted approval for 1,500 more seats at short notice.

This will allow 11,500 fans into Signal Iduna Park for the second Bundesliga home game of the season on Saturday 3 October (kick-off: 15:30 CET). Originally, BVB had planned to offer 10,000 seats and set the ticket raffle up for that number. The successful and unsuccessful entrants are currently being informed by email.

11,500 spectators represent 14.1 percent of the actual stadium capacity of 81,365 fans. For the first home game on 19 September against Borussia Mönchengladbach, the authorities had given the go-ahead for 10,000 fans and subsequently praised the behaviour of the fans and lauded the implementation of the hygiene concept.

The 1,500 extra tickets will go on sale on Wednesday from 12 noon CET via the online shop. Season ticket holders and club members of Borussia Dortmund can purchase two tickets directly. The buyers must be resident in NRW and the 7-day incidence of these towns and municipalities must be less than 35/100,000 inhabitants. For this reason, only season ticket holders and club members who meet these requirements will be allowed to use the online shop to purchase tickets. For reasons of fairness, season ticket holders who have already been successful in the previous prize draw cannot purchase additional tickets via the online shop.

The names and further details of the two users must be provided. Strict inspections will be carried out upon entry to the stadium. Individual tickets cannot be purchased.

Buyers will receive their tickets by email as "print@home tickets", which must be printed out and presented on match day! It is not possible to scan the tickets on mobile phones at the entrance.

"We are delighted that for the first time, club members will also have the opportunity to attend a BVB home match," explained BVB President Dr. Reinhard Rauball: "Since only a very limited number of fans can get into Signal Iduna Park at the moment, I ask our members to understand that the number of tickets available is quite small. But it's a start." Only season ticket holders had been able to apply for the home game against Gladbach. (br)
