The Borussia Dortmund women's handball team might not yet have achieved sustained success on the international stage, having won only one of their first five Champions League group matches. But in the league they now have six wins from six matches after recording a comfortable 36-21 (21-10) victory over Kurpfalz Bären from Ketsch.

The match at Halle Wellinghofen was actually scheduled to take place at 19:30 CET. But the visiting team's bus broke down on the way, delaying the throw-off by 45 minutes.

The visitors' resistance was broken around the 10-minute mark as BVB managed to pull away for the first time with a 10-5 lead. The gulf in quality between the Black & Yellows, who are yet to drop a single point this season, and bottom-of-the table Kurpfalz Bären was clear for all to see in the minutes that followed.

Coach André Fuhr was able to give his regular starters a breather for parts of this game by sharing out the minutes across the entire squad. By the time the half-time whistle sounded, the home side held a 21-10 lead.

It was a similar story after the interval too. BVB were completely in control and ultimately breezed to a 36-21 victory that was never in doubt. The best throwers were Johanna Stockschläder and Tina Abdulla, who between them scored 16 times. In total, 11 different players made it onto the scoresheet in a game that will serve as a dress rehearsal for this weekend's Champions League game away to Romanian side Valcea.
