More than 400 official BVB fan clubs took part in the first digital fan delegation meeting of 2021, at the invitation of the fan relations department. Head coach Edin Terzic and Thomas Delaney took plenty of time to answer the questions of the numerous BVB fan clubs. In addition, BVB managing director, Carsten Cramer, and Dr. Christian Hockenjos, BVB director of organisation, were among the guests.

The fan delegation meeting is organised twice a year by fan representatives and serves as a forum for all BVB fan clubs to find out about the latest developments at BVB and, above all, news about fan clubs. In addition, the fan club representatives have the opportunity to take part in question and answer sessions with guests such as coaches, players or board members. Usually, several hundred fan club representatives come together in the stadium.

As at the first digital fan delegation meeting this season in the autumn of last year, this event was again broadcast live from the stadium's press conference room to the living rooms of the numerous BVB fan clubs in the light of the current pandemic situation. On Monday, too, the fans were able to enjoy the participation of many international BVB fan clubs from all over the world.

After the welcoming address from Björn Hegemann, head of the fan relations department, and Carsten Cramer, BVB managing director, Nobby Dickel took over as moderator of the discussions as usual. Edin Terzic and new father Thomas Delaney started by talking about the derby victory.

Due to the current hygiene regulations, the two guests dialled in to the live stream from the training ground and from home, respectively. In addition to the derby victory, the participating fan clubs were especially interested in the current situation on the pitch, how Edin Terzic had found the past few weeks and how the team and coaching staff felt about playing in empty stadiums.

In the second part of the meeting, Carsten Cramer and Dr. Christian Hockenjos, director of organisation at Borussia Dortmund, answered the questions of the BVB fan clubs. Here too, of course, the current special situation in terms of match organisation was the focus of the discussions. Carsten Cramer also reported on the current situation at the BVB office and reported on the current state of play in women's football at BVB. Dr. Christian Hockenjos was also able to provide insights into the organisational procedures surrounding the special situation of organising matches in the current climate.

Following this, Björn Hegemann and two colleagues from the fan clubs department, Marie Büchner and Sandra Portmann, reported on the latest developments and issues in the fan relations department. For example, it has already been announced that the department will continue to work on alternative digital offers for fan clubs and that there will be a second edition of the fan club competition and the fan club FIFA tournament in the coming weeks and months. The department also reported on the work of the Supporters' Council, which still meets regularly in digital form. The discussions of the Supporters' Council meetings will continue to be made available on the BVB website in the form of external minutes.

At the end of the digital fan delegation meeting, Carsten Cramer and Björn Hegemann once again thanked all the fan clubs for the large turnout and also for their support and loyalty over the past few weeks and months.
