After the 4-1 victory over Werder Bremen, head coach Edin Terzic, captain Marco Reus and defender Manuel Akanji spoke to pay-TV broadcaster Sky. Here are the match reactions.

Edin Terzic: "It was a good game from us. But we didn't play our attacks cleanly through to the end at all times and allowed our opponents too many counter-attacks and too many chances. We obviously wanted to avoid that; nonetheless, we were very dominant, created a lot of opportunities – and deserved to win in the end. The victory brings us three points closer to our goal. We now need to keep working well until Wednesday and show that we can keep this up. Erling got his reward today with two goals; that's a good ratio for him and we're obviously very happy with him."

Marco Reus: "After yesterday, we were even more up for it because this was a huge opportunity for us to get close again. We managed to do that thanks to the win and have narrowed the gap. After falling behind, we kept our composure and continued to play at a good level. In the last few matches, we have showed a good reaction. We need to keep going; there are only five matches remaining. At this moment in time, it's not important how we win our games; we simply need to win them. In the end the three points are ours; ideally, we'd always like to keep them. We go again on Wednesday."

Manuel Akanji: "We finished off our attacks patiently. That paid off. We can be really proud of this performance. We scored four goals, but unfortunately conceded one. We won 4-1, that's good. And we reduced the gap above us. We have to keep delivering good team performances to show that we are not going to drop any more points. We're still conceding too many goals; we need to work on that. The good thing is: we're capable of scoring four goals – but we cannot count on it."
