Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund have agreed to sign 26-year-old Germany international ahead of the 2022/23 season. The 1.95m-tall central defender is currently plying his trade at Bayern Munich. His contract with Germany's record champions will run out in the summer of 2022.

"We're delighted that we have managed to sign Niklas Süle, a Germany international, on a free transfer and have tied the player down for four years," declared BVB sporting director Michael Zorc. Sebastian Kehl, who will succeed Zorc in the role in the summer, explained: "Niklas has shown during the course of personal talks that he is really keen on Borussia Dortmund. He possesses a lot of experience, composure in his build-up play and the necessary physicality to take the next step with us from this summer onwards."

Süle, who started his Bundesliga career at TSG Hoffenheim, has made 213 appearances in the Bundesliga (12 goals, six assists), 32 in the Champions League (one goal) and 37 for the Germany national team (one goal). He won the 2020 UEFA Champions League with Bayern Munich. This season, he has made more Bundesliga appearances than any other defender at his club (19).
