The Borussia Dortmund U17s cemented their hold on second place in the B-Junior Bundesliga West thanks to a comfortable 4-1 win in the top match against third-placed Fortuna Düsseldorf on Sunday.

"That was – with a few exceptions – a good team performance," said coach Karsten Gorges, who was pleased with the fluid link-up play and some well-worked goals. That's how the opening goal came about, which Alex Niziolek scored in the 27th minute following a fine move involving Venis Uka and Almugera Kabar. Niziolek then scored to make it 3-0, with Paris Brunner scoring his 15th and 16th goals of the season either side of that.

Karsten Gorges' side will play two friendlies during the international break – against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday (21 September, 17:00 CET) and against Hamburger SV on Saturday (24 September, 14:00 CET).

BVB: Held – Rashidi, Adamczyk, Meiser, Kabar – Uka, Campbell, Gürpüz (Plöger, 60) – König (Zickler, 82) – Niziolek, Brunner.
