The German national team earned a 1-1 draw against Spain in their second group match at the World Cup to keep their chances of reaching the last 16 alive.

Niklas Süle was again named in the starting XI for the second match of the tournament and lined up in the centre of defence alongside Antonio Rüdiger. Nico Schlotterbeck was substituted on in the 87th minute, replacing David Raum at left-back.

Spain took the lead around the hour mark through Alvaro Morata (62), before Germany substitute Niclas Füllkrug levelled the score seven minutes before the end.

Germany remain fourth in Group E but still have a decent chance of reaching the last 16 if they beat Costa Rica on Thursday (20:00 CET).

Thomas Meunier and Thorgan Hazard were in action with the Belgian national team earlier in the day. The match against Morocco ended in a 2-0 defeat for the Black & Yellow duo. Both players started the game, with Hazard coming off after 75 minutes and Meunier after 81 minutes.
