Falling behind again so quickly after the break ultimately knocked the stuffing out of Borussia against Wolfsburg, as the team noted after the match. "After that we didn't manage to create any more clear chances and so we lost narrowly," analysed Kevin Kampl. Here we bring you the reactions to the match.

Jürgen Klopp: "We've lost, but we've still got a "final" for the Europa League spot. So everything's okay really. But more was possible today, so of course it still plays on your mind directly after the match. We're certainly not going to play for a draw next week. It's a real final, and one that we want to win."

Marcel Schmelzer: "Obviously it was extremely difficult to find a way back into the game after conceding a goal to such a strong team in the first minute. But we still managed to recover after ten minutes and played really good football in the first half. However, we need to avoid conceding goals in the opening stages."

Kevin Kampl: "We even said to ourselves at half time that we needed to beware of their set-pieces. So we're obviously very disappointed to have conceded a goal like that right after the break. Conceding that goal knocked the stuffing out of us. After that we didn't manage to create clear chances and so unfortunately we narrowly lost. That's a shame because I think we had the better of the game in the first half. After their goal we made a good recovery, immediately seized control of the game and were the better team - though Wolfsburg obviously still had good chances of their own. It's a shame, we had real intentions for this game and wanted to win at all costs."

"It'll be an incredible final"

Dieter Hecking: "If that game is to be a foretaste of what the Cup final will be like, it's going to be an incredible final. Both teams played an open game, and upped the tempo immediately whenever there was a chance to do so. That was a good game." (djg)
