"We consider the fixture list to be well-balanced, even if we do have to face an extremely strong opponent on the first day of the season," said BVB Sporting Director Michael Zorc of the fixture list for the 2015/16 Bundesliga season, which was published today.

"In any case, we're looking forward to getting started at home to Borussia Mönchengladbach," said Zorc, who added: "Should we reach the group stages of the Europa League, five of our six group matches would be followed by a home game, which would somewhat reduce the impact of travelling."

The fixtures on the first four matchdays against Borussia Mönchengladbach, FC Ingolstadt, Hertha BSC und Hannover 96 will be scheduled more precisely in the next 14 days. Due to their participation in UEFA Europa League qualifiers, BVB are likely to play matchday 2 (in Ingolstadt) and matchday 3 (against Hertha Berlin) on Sundays. (br)
