Today is day five of the summer training camp in Bad Ragaz. And after having enjoyed a morning without training, new signing Gonzalo Castro and Kevin Kampl attended the daily press conference to face questions from the media.

"In the first few weeks a lot of things were still new, but the lads gave me a very warm welcome," said Dortmund new boy Gonzalo Castro in summary of his first few weeks as a Black and Yellow. "Things are all very positive. We've all come to understand very quickly what the coach wants from us." The fact that head coach Thomas Tuchel has such strength in depth at his disposal - particularly in midfield after Ilkay Gündogan chose to stay at the club - is a bonus in the eyes of the 28-year-old, who is taking the competition for places in his stride: "I'm delighted that Ilkay is staying with us, he'll continue to help the team. We're very well-equipped in midfield, where I think we can become one of the best in Germany. In the next few weeks we'll be able to call on the services of every single player."

Fellow BVB midfielder Kevin Kampl shares the same opinion. Before heading home on Sunday, the team and coaching staff want to use the last few days in Switzerland to continue their intense preparations for their new role as challengers in the coming season. "A lot is expected of you when you play for BVB - and a lot of that expectation comes from within. We want to try to attack those Champions League places and compete with the top three of four. And given the quality in the team, I'm sure we can manage that," said Kampl.
