Borussia Dortmund's Felix Passlack has been named "2015 Young Footballer of the Year" together with Pauline Bremer and Jonathan Tah. The three young talents will be presented with the Gold Fritz Walter Medal in Frankfurt am Main on 4 September.

Felix Passlack, who won the U17-Juniors championship with BVB, could cap off a brilliant year in November. Having finished as a runner-up with the Germany U17 team at the European Championships in Bulgaria in May and celebrated winning the B-Juniors championship with BVB shortly after his return, the next big thing on the horizon for the midfielder will be the U17 World Cup in Chile (17 October until 8 November). For the captain of the Germany U17 side, lifting the World Cup title would be the perfect way to round off a year which began by participating in the BVB first-team squad's winter training camp in La Manga.

"In addition to his footballing ability, Felix Passlack has fantastic leadership qualities, which he demonstrated at the U17 European Championships in Bulgaria," said Hansi Flick, before adding: "On and off the pitch, he conducts himself just like you would expect a captain to. We hope that this award will give him a further boost ahead of the upcoming U17 World Cup in Chile in October this year."
