Marco Reus left the Germany national team camp in Frankfurt am Main on Wednesday evening, with team doctor Josef Schmitt justifying the midfielder's premature departure as follows: "Marco sustained an injury - a broken distal phalanx in the big toe of the left foot - before linking up with the national team.

"The pain caused by the injury makes it impossible for him to play in the upcoming internationals," he continued. Further treatment will be conducted by Borussia Dortmund.
