In their first game of 2016, the Borussia Dortmund U23s managed a 1-1 draw against third placed Viktoria Köln in the Regional League West.

The game, however, was there for the taking for Daniel Farke's team, as the 'Domstädter' had to play 80 minutes of the match with a man less. Despite that, they took the lead after half an hour through a goal from Jansen. Only in the 84' minute did Eberwein manage to equalise thanks to a spot-kick. Ducksch had the best opportunity of the remainder of the game to take it to 2-1 two minutes before time, but failed to beat Cologne's keeper right in front of goal.

BVB: Bonmann - Camoglu, Stankovic, Mainka, Dieckmann (78. Ozbolt) - Solga, Karazor - Hober, Harder (71. Kefkir), Eberwein – Ducksch (br)
