Referee Cüneyt Cakir will take charge of the last-16 UEFA Europa League first leg between Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur at Signal Iduna Park on Thursday. The business graduate's CV includes refereeing at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil as well as the 2012 European Championships in Poland and Ukraine. He was also the match official for last year's Champions League final.

Cüneyt Cakir began his career on 29 September 2001 in the Turkish Süper Lig fixture between Malatyaspor and Çaykur Rizespor. The 39-year-old has been on FIFA International Referees List since 2006.

At European level, the experienced esteemed from Turkey has overseen 82 games, including the 2-2 draw between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League group stage on 6 November 2012. (br)
