Borussia Dortmund's U19s will play in the German A-Youth Championship final! Six days after losing 1-2 in the first leg, Hannes Wolf's team came out on top in the second leg of the semi-final at TSV 1860 Munich with goals from Christian Pulisic and Felix Passlack, winning 2-0 (1-0).

BVB could have put themselves on track for the final in the first half of the game at the Sportpark Heimstetten. After a cautious start from both sides, it was indeed the 'Lions' to whom the first chance of the game fell, and a good one at that, as Türk muscled his way through to send a shot fizzing just wide of the goal (13'). However, the Black and Yellow boys then took the game by the scruff of the neck. After a quarter of an hour it was Pulisic's turn to break through on the right hand side, giving himself the opportunity to set up Scuderi inch perfectly – but over the bar! It should have been 0-1! Another five minutes later and the referee let an advantage be played, Passlack popped up in space in front of keeper Engl, who, nonetheless, was able to save the subsequent effort with his right foot.

The third chance was then to bring about the goal that took Dortmund into the lead, in front of the onlooking Hans-Joachim Watzke. Passlack could not be stopped on the right wing, and Pulisic cashed in his precise cross, score: 0-1 (32'). Scuderi was denied two minutes later by the goalkeeper.

Munich came back stronger after the break, opening up the game once more to give themselves another big chance in the 57' minute via Türk. The Munich man found himself unmarked, but headed the ball wide to the left. Serra then failed to beat Engl almost immediately after from a tight angle (58'), but the pressure put onto the opposition by the Black and Yellows was now not as high as it had been in the first 45 minutes.

Now playing in pouring rain, both teams were on the hunt for a winner in the last quarter hour of the fixture in an attempt to avoid things being decided by penalties. Passlack's contact with the ball around the penalty spot in the 77' minute was wanting. El-Bouazzati, standing in for the injured Sahin, had looked solid for most of the game, but then also had that little bit of luck one needs in such a match, the ball heading just wide of the goal three minutes before time. Shortly thereafter, a long ball was pumped forward in front the Munich goal, the goalkeeper and defenders got in each other's way, allowing Passlack to take down the ball directly before converting to take the game to 0-2 (89')!

The final will take place on 29 May (13:00 CET) at TSG Hoffenheim, who put themselves through with 2-0 and 3-1 victories over Werder Bremen. "We will prepare ourselves well for this game, analyse the opposition in detail, and then attempt to give our all", announced match winner Felix Passlack, who was overjoyed: "For the third time in a row, I am in the youth final, and that's amazing!"
