A beaming Hannes Wolf said after the 5-3 win over TSG Hoffenheim: "we played a super game." Lars Ricken was full of praise when he said: "this title is proof of the good work we are doing within the Academy." The players highlighted the team spirit. The reactions to winning the German A-Juniors Championship.

Hannes Wolf (Head Coach): „we played a super game, we did not let the opponent do anything in the first half apart from conceding the goal. We developed a nice flow by switching play and we had lots of shots on goal. But still we were very unfortunate to go into the half time break at 1-1. We are very proud of what the boys then achieved in the second half of a final by scoring four goals."

Lars Ricken (Academy coordinator): „this is fantastic! This team won the title twice at U17 level. To win the Championship with the same players at U19 level is another step up. The game was at the highest level both technically and tactically and we absolutely deserved to win. The title is proof of what we have achieved within academy football."

Felix Passlack: „if you give a performance like that and you play a vital role in four of the goals, then that is a brilliant feeling. The team has a fantastic team spirit. it is a great experience to play with them every time."

Janni Serra: „it is a fantastic feeling. We were very good in one-on-ones, we were the better team and we really put the pressure on Hoffenheim with our counter attacking play. Felix played an outstanding game. We never give up, we are always there."

Till Schumacher: „it was a huge game. If you concede three goals you usually leave the pitch as the losing team. The fact that we scored five goals is sensational! We are enjoying the moment. We had a a great first half of the season, then two players went and joined the first team squad and we also had further problems with injuries. We more or less struggled our way through then, we really worked together as a team. All the players get on really well together. That was the key to success." Summary by Boris Rupert
