Day five in China was also full of activities for the Borussia Dortmund team. Apart from two training sessions, the BVB programme consisted of a cultural exchange and also a visit to the Evonik football school. In addition Sven Bender and Matthias Ginter spoke about the Olympics.

Marc Bartra, Roman Weidenfeller, Emre Mor, Sebastian Rode and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a group of young and older Borussia players, visited the Chinese garden in Shanghai. Apart from TaiChi exercises that the complete team took part in under the instructions of a 70 year old teacher in the morning, the quintet also participated in an introduction to Chinese lettering in calligraphy technology.

Ousmane Dembélé and Marcel Schmelzer visited the Evonik HQ in China. It was not only the 250 excited Evonik workers who were entertained and put in a good mood with a "kickball game", this also put Ousmane Dembélé in a good mood when he narrowly beat Marcel Schmelzer 2-1.

Nuri Sahin and Erik Durm were guests at „WOWSports“, a new Borussia Dortmund partner who will be offering tour packages to selected games next season for Chinese BVB fans to come to Dortmund.

The BVB Evonik football school carried out a training session together with Puma and 80 children in front of the watchful eyes of Roman Bürki, Adrian Ramos, Gonzalo Castro and Mikel Merino. The players also took part in a little agility competition flying exercise with some drones by "DJ1", which obviously seemed to be a lot of fun especially for Roman Bürki.

At the same time Olympics participants Sven Bender and Matthias Ginter made themselves available for a media Q&A session. Bender emphasised: "it is important to me not to play down this competition. If I would say as a footballer that I don't want to go there, even though I had the chance to take part, then I think that would be unfair towards the other athletes who have fought all their life to be able to take part in the Olympics. I would have a bad conscience." (br)
