The BVB first team and officials were not the only ones to experience boundless enthusiasm, incredibly euphoric fans and unforgettable impressions on this summer's China Tour. The same experience was enjoyed by the BVB Evonik Soccer School, which was represented by three coaches on the trip to the Far East. The unanimous verdict after their stay in Shanghai: a great success in a fascinating country.

During BVB's tour, the Evonik Soccer School laid on three events in the sprawling economic metropolis, with around 200 Asian children taking part. All of them had been excitedly anticipating the Black and Yellow football experience for weeks. With their eyes shining, the youngsters received their BVB football equipment and thus played a part in lighting up Shanghai in the Black and Yellow of Dortmund for seven days.

The first stop for the German coaches was Tongji University, where they gave 72 children at a Japanese football school an intensive and informative training session with team-building games. Thereafter the kids made the trip to the Shanghai Stadium, where they watched BVB take on Manchester United. The kids celebrated with enthusiasm as Borussia strode to a comfortable 4-1 win.

Only one day later came the next stop in the form of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event, organised by the German Chamber of Foreign Trade in Shanghai and BVB's main sponsor Evonik. 60 children at six different primary schools located in socially disadvantaged areas watched a BVB training session before having the opportunity to get to know first-team players Sven Bender and Sokratis first-hand and getting their hands on a whole load of autographs and selfies.

The BVB Evonik Soccer School then made the third stop of the tour at Century Park in Shanghai. On the first-class grass surface that the BVB first-team players trained on, an event was held in cooperation with PUMA. The kids of Evonik employees experienced games, fun and a maximum dose of football, which took place in over 40 degree heat. Gonzalo Castro, Adrian Ramos, Roman Bürki and BVB new signing Mikel Merino also paid the football-mad kids a visit.

The unfathomable enthusiasm as well as the fast-growing interest in football and in the footballing education of children in China were clear for the BVB coaches to see during the course of the tour. Conclusion: it was quite the unique cultural and footballing experience both for the three German coaches and for the kids from the Far East. It's sure to remain long in the memory of all those involved.
