The week of cup draws
The draw for the group stages of the UEFA Champions League will take place on Thursday, followed by the draw for the second round of the DFB Cup on Friday. BVB are in pot 2 for Europe's elite club competition.
The draw for the group stages of the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League kicks off in Monaco at 18:00 CET. Pot 1 contains the champions of the seven strongest nations as well as Real Madrid, the competition's reigning champions. Ahead of the Champions League play-off return legs, the pots are as follows. An update will follow on Wednesday night after the second legs have been played.

Borussia Dortmund are also in the second round of the DFB Cup. The draw will be made live on ARD at 22:45 CET on Friday evening, following the coverage of the opening match of the new Bundesliga campaign between Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen. The second round will be played on 25/26 October. (br)
