Goal scorers Gonzalo Castro, Sebatian Rode and Matthias Ginter were in an ebullient mood after today's game against Darmstadt in interview with BVBtotal! while analysing the game. New signing Rode was especially happy to have scored his first goal for Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park. Here follow their opinions on the game.

Sebastian Rode scored his first goal at home for BVB.

Gonzalo Castro: "The reason for such a great victory was that we maintained a high level of pressure throughout the game. That was what the manager had asked of us. We were not to let ourselves be lulled in, as happened in Leipzig. Early goals in both halves helped a lot of course. Going 1-0 up opened the proverbial gates, though the second goal was not any less important, in order to bring a measure of control into the game. It is of course super that both I and Sebastian scored with our heels."

Sebastian Rode: "You could see in Leipzig last week that not everything was running as it should for us. For that reason, we wanted to improve this time round, and I think we certainly managed that in both of this week's games. It is true that neither opponent is deemed worthy of the greatest expectations, but you still have to go out and give a performance to put six past Warsaw and Darmstadt. It was important to get the early goals, and it was good that we continued to go forward even after taking the game to 3-0. I am really very happy today having scored my first goal for BVB here at home."

Matthias Ginter: (grinning) "It was certainly a lot of fun watching the young boys in attack. But seriously: we played excellently against Darmstadt, hogged possession and were always going on the attack. We had even more space in the second half, enabling us to play even better. We hardly ever let our opponent counterattack, and we can be really pleased about that. All in all, a great day at the office."

"It is a well earned win for BVB"

Norbert Meier (Darmstadt 98 manager): "A neutral observer – something I clearly was not – would have marvelled at the technical qualities of the Borussia Dortmund players, as well as their speed. We were no match for them at any time during the game. When you are 3-0 down and have seen a man sent off, then of course it is extremely difficult. It is a well earned win for BVB. At this point in time, Dortmund certainly cannot be considered a yardstick for us." (djg)
