Black and Yellow celebrations in Wolfsburg

Opened up: Raphael Guerreiro opened the scoring with his first touch of the ball. Beforehand Wolfsburg had not conceded a goal in the Bundesliga for 285 minutes. With one goal and two assists, the Portuguese was among Dortmund's stand-out performers.

Goals glut: BVB have only ever scored 17 goals in three consecutive competitive games once, in 1982, when they beat Karlsruher 4-3, Leverkusen 2-1 and Bielefeld 11-1 under Karlheinz Feldkamp's stewardship.

Tuchel's preferred opponent: Borussia Dortmund have won all three of their matches against Wolfsburg under Thomas Tuchel (5-1, 5-1, 2-1). BVB's last defeat against the men from Lower Saxony came in the 2015 DFB Cup final, when Jürgen Klopp was still in charge.

Auba's preferred opponents: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has now scored seven goals against Wolfsburg (six in the Bundesliga, one in the DFB Cup); he has not scored against any other club more often.

A team effort: Ousmane Dembélé and Lukasz Piszczek tonight became the 13th and 14th Dortmund players that have scored for the club in all competitions this season.

Goal drought over: Before scoring the fifth, Lukasz Piszczek had not scored in the Bundesliga for 45 games. His last goal came against Hoffenheim on 3 May 2014.

Reverse rotation: Thomas Tuchel made the exact same four changes as he did at the weekend, but this time in reverse. That meant that Dortmund played with exactly the same starting XI that featured in the 6-0 victory away to Legia Warsaw!

Striker comparison: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang touched the ball 27 times, had three shots and scored two goals; Gomez touched the ball 29 times, had two shots and is awaiting his first goal for VfL.

Provider: In the last three competitive games Gonzalo Castro has set up four goals (two today) and has also scored two himself.

Quick goal: Against Warsaw and Darmstadt BVB raced into a 1-0 lead after seven minutes; today they broke the deadlock in the fourth minute.

Run over: For Wolfsburg, who had not lost any of their last six competitive games in a run stretching back into last season, it was the first defeat of the current campaign. The men from Lower Saxony's last loss came on 30 April, also against BVB (also 5-1, in Dortmund). (br)
