Borussia Dortmund will be without Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Marc Bartra and Christian Pulisic for the DFB Cup tie against Union Berlin. Ousmane Dembélé has been included in the squad but will start the match on the bench.

Jacob Bruun Larsen has been drafted in to make his first-team debut, while Nuri Sahin features for the first time this season.

That means there is a Danish-speaking contingent starting for BVB – 18-year-old Jacob Bruun Larsen and 19-year-old Emre Mor. The former has been at the club since January 2015, becoming a champion at U17 and U19 level in 2015 and 2016. He represented Denmark at the 2016 Olympic Games, playing in all four matches before the Scandinavian outfit were eliminated by Nigeria at the quarter-final stage.

Aubameyang is suffering from a bruised calf muscle, while Bartra is will recovering from an adductor injury and Pulisic is ill. There is good reason to hope that the trio will be fit to play on Saturday.
