Speaking in a post-match press interview, Thomas Tuchel criticised his team's first-half display before praising them for their performance in the second period. "All in all, we put in an enormous amount of effort and carved out two gilt-edged chances to score," he said.

Thomas Tuchel: "We had some real problems in the first period, making a lot of unforced errors and a lot of mistakes in our build-up play. We brought some dangerous situations upon ourselves by passing the ball poorly and not occupying offensive spaces well enough. We didn't have a single shot, which doesn't leave you with a good feeling. In the second period we were much better and occupied the spaces better, which enabled us to raise the tempo, and made hardly any mistakes at the back. All in all, we put in an enormous amount of effort and created two gilt-edged chances to score. I am very satisfied with the performance in the second period."

Markus Weinzierl: "We gave away absolutely nothing in the first half and put in a very disciplined performance. In attack, the final ball wasn't good enough for us to score. A 0-0 is fine! We need to continue in this vein to make up for our start to the season." (br)
