Borussia Dortmund increased consolidated revenue by €36.8m or 40.9% to €126.8m (previous year: €90m) in the first quarter (1 July 2016 to 30 September 2016) of the 2016/2017 financial year.

Excluding transfer fees, consolidated revenue rose by €8.4m or 11.5% to €81.6m (previous year: €73.2m) – largely thanks to participation in the UEFA Champions League. The operating result (EBITDA) stood at €40.1 million (previous year: €13.9m). Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) in the reporting period amounted to €24.1m (previous year: € -5.2m). The group quarterly result, calculated according to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), amounted to €20.7m (previous year: € -5.6m).

In its individual financial statements, Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA achieved earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of €21.6m (previous year: € -8.1m) in the first quarter of the 2016/2017 financial year. Earnings before tax (EBT) amounted to €23.0m (previous year: € -5.8m). The quarterly result amounted to €20.0m (previous year: € -5.9m).
