Borussia Dortmund's last home game in the UEFA Champions League group stage, which comes against Legia Warsaw on Tuesday evening, will not be sold out for security reasons.

In order to prevent further poor conduct from the Legia fans when the Polish club travel to Signal Iduna Park, certain security measures have been taken. For example, on the matchday itself no ticket offices will be open at the stadium, with the previous sale of tickets limited to BVB members.

Given that there was a large amount of unrest prior to Legia Warsaw's UEFA Champions League home game with Real Madrid, UEFA implemented sanctions stating that the Polish club could not bring any fans to Dortmund. The fact that the Legia fans caused problems by rioting in the stands and making racist remarks during the clubs' first meeting in Warsaw has also contributed to the current decision.

Borussia Dortmund are expecting a maximum of 55,000 fans in Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday. The North East corner will remain completely empty. Safety comes first. (ds)
