Unstoppable: André Schürrle's 20th shot of the season resulted in his first Bundesliga goal for the club, meaning he has now scored once in each of the three competitions for BVB. The forward had more shots than any other player on the pitch with almost as many efforts (seven) as the entire Bremen team put together (nine). Last year Schürrle's first goal of the season also came in the first match after the winter break. Then a Wolfsburg player, he finished the campaign with nine.

Long time coming: For the first time since the victory over Bayern Munich on 19 November, Dortmund took the lead. They fell behind in the seven competitive matches that followed (five of which were in the Bundesliga), winning two, drawing four and losing one.

Strong in the lead: The Black and Yellows have won all eight Bundesliga games this season in which they have opening the scoring.

Dangerous defender: With four goals to his name this season, Lukasz Piszczek is now the league's top-scoring defender. The Pole today equalled his previous best record from the 2011/12 season.

Successful comeback: Raphael Guerreiro made his first competitive appearance since 5 November in Hamburg, where he set up the winner in a 2-1 victory.
