Borussia Dortmund may now field new signing Alexander Isak in national competitions after FIFA today approved the 17-year-old Swede's transfer from AIK to BVB, thus enabling the DFL and the DFB to grant the youngster permission to play in the Bundesliga and the DFB Cup.

FIFA's approval for the transfer of Alexander Isak from Solna to Dortmund, which was granted more quickly than BVB expected, had been necessary because the young striker is still a minor.

The 17-year-old is to be gently eased into Bundesliga life. For this reason, the decision has been taken together with Isak and his parents not to nominate the player for the current UEFA Champions League campaign. (br)
