Marco Reus and Erik Durm spoke to sky and BVBtotal! following the victory over Leipzig. Both were very satisfied with Borussia's display, even though the missed chances still appeared to be on Reus' mind. Nonetheless, he said: "We are absolutely delighted with the result. Fortunately it worked out well for us." Here are the first reactions to the match.

Marco Reus: "We won this match, that's all that counts. And we are absolutely delighted with the victory. Of course, anything can happen when the score is 1-0. If I had managed to put away one of the three chances in attack, then we wouldn't still be speaking about Leipzig's offside goal at the end. Fortunately, things turned out well for us. Overall I think that we put in a good performance. It was a real battle out there and we were ready for the fight."

Erik Durm: "We kept our emotions in check well, but the tactics we employed worked fantastically too. We built on that and we were businesslike in how we saw the game through. We played brilliant football, had some very good counter-attacks and really dealt well with everything. We gave our all and deserved to win."

"Scoring our only chance would have been the lucky punch"

Ralph Hasenhüttl: "BVB were deserved winners, no doubt about that. Scoring our only chance would have been the lucky punch that we were aiming for. We gave absolutely everything we had but unfortunately it wasn't enough. It was the first time that we have played in this formation, so for that reason I would like to pay my team a real compliment. We put in a real good showing and really battled hard for the fans. I am proud of the team and under the circumstances I can tolerate a defeat."

Davie Selke: "We knew that it'd be difficult and that BVB possess huge quality, especially when countering. Nonetheless, we can be proud of our performance. We tried to give everything. I think that we succeeded in that respect. BVB are very strong on home turf and have a lot of quality. We wanted to keep it tight for as long as we could. We managed that and almost got the lucky punch at the end." (djg)
