Borussia Dortmund's U19s will face FC Barcelona at the last 16 stage of the UEFA Youth League. The tie consists of a single match, which will be played in Spain on 21 or 22 February.

"Obviously it's an awesome draw and a real top match in this competition," said coach Benjamin Hoffmann of the draw that took place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon. Should BVB reach the quarter final, they would face the winner of the tie between Porto and FC Vitorul at home on 7 or 8 March.

Barcelona, who won the first-ever UEFA Youth League in 2013/14, racked up five wins during the group stage as they overcame the likes of Manchester City, Celtic and Borussia Mönchengladbach before losing 2-1 against the Germans in their final match, which was effectively a dead rubber.

The U19s cemented their place as one of the best 16 youth teams in Europe by recording a 1-0 away play-off victory over Maccabi Haifa in mid-week, having previously finished the group phase in second place behind Real Madrid but ahead of Legia Warsaw and Sporting Lisbon. (wiwi/br)
