In the corresponding fixture earlier this season BVB twice came from behind to secure a 3-3 draw.

The scenario: Third versus 17th. It will be only the second time the Black and Yellows have hosted the Schanzer at Signal Iduna Park.

Home/away: Borussia Dortmund have won all three games in front of their own fans in 2017 and are now unbeaten in 32 matches on home turf. Only in one of their previous 16 fixtures at Signal Iduna Park have Thomas Tuchel's charges failed to find the net. Ingolstadt have the worst away record in the division, with two wins (in Leverkusen and Frankfurt), three draws and seven defeats.

Personnel matters: Thomas Tuchel will provide an update on BVB's personnel situation at 15:00 CET today. Ingolstadt will be without Hartmann, who is suffering from a thigh problem.

Head-to-head record: Last season Borussia Dortmund were the only team FCI failed to pick up a point and score a goal against (0-6 aggregate score). In the first half of the 2016/17 season they finally picked up their first point in the 3-3 draw. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored four goals in three games against the Bavarian outfit (three of those in the final quarter of an hour).

Statistics: Only Bayern Munich (60) have scored more goals than Borussia Dortmund (53), who have kept only six clean sheets this term compared to 10 at the same stage last season. Ingolstadt have won only one of their last six matches. Only Darmstadt have kept fewer clean sheets than the Schanzer (three games without conceding, compared to eight a year ago).

Attendance: Signal Iduna Park will have a sell-out crowd of 81,360 fans, with 1,700 travelling fans coming from Ingolstadt.

Weather: Light rain and temperatures of seven degrees are expected at kick-off.

Referee: Daniel Siebert, 32, is officiating a BVB game for the fourth time this season. The man from the capital will be assisted by linesmen Lasse Koslowski and Jan Seidel, while Frederick Assmuth will be the fourth official.

One yellow card away from suspension: Bartra, Sokratis – Groß, Morales
