With a shot count of 18-9 and spells of 67 percent possession, FC Bayern were deserved victors as they consigned Borussia Dortmund to their heaviest defeat of the season. The visitors had previously conceded more than two on only one occasion – in the 3-3 draw with Ingolstadt.

Old Vs Young: Bayern fielded their oldest starting XI (average age of 30.1 years) of the season, while Borussia Dortmund fielded the most players under 21 (seven) of any Bundesliga club this term.

Bayern's home run: The men from Munich are now unbeaten in 30 competitive games at home (26 wins, four draws). The last defeat at the Allianz Arena came 13 months ago against Mainz.

Borussia's away run: BVB have taken only one point from their last three games on the road. With only 17 points on their travels, they have 15 fewer than Bayern, who have the league's best away record.

Sixth away defeat: Borussia lost for the third time in 2017, meaning they have suffered as many defeats this year as they did in the 16 games before Christmas. All six defeats in the 2016/17 season have come away from SIGNAL IDUNA PARK.

Long-range goal: Raphael Guerreiro's goal was his fifth of the season in total and his first from distance. It was the first BVB shot on Sven Ulreich's goal today and, following Gonzalo Castro's effort against Hamburg, their second of the season from long range. Both came within the space of four days.

Penalty: Bayern's penalty was the first spot-kick BVB have conceded in 39 competitive games this season.

Back in action: Following an operation and a long spell on the sidelines, Sebastian Rode made his comeback in the second period. It was his first appearance since he featured in Matchday 14's 1-1 draw in Cologne in mid-December 2016. (br)
