Eight-time German champions Borussia Dortmund on Monday launched a French-language version of their homepage. It becomes the fourth different foreign language available on the club's official website, following the English, Japanese and Spanish webpages – the last of which was launched at the beginning of the 2016/17 campaign. Borussia Dortmund's French-speaking fan community can now get all the latest news and background information on the club at www.bvb.de/fr.

"Not only is French one of the world's most widely spoken languages, but we are also currently experiencing a rapidly growing interest in Borussia Dortmund from France and other French-speaking countries in particular – thanks in no small part to our players who come from France or other francophone countries around the world, such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ousmane Dembélé and Raphael Guerreiro," explained Carsten Cramer, Borussia Dortmund's Director for Sales and Marketing. "By launching a French-speaking webpage, we want to allow all French-speaking BVB fans and enthusiasts to experience their fascination with Borussia Dortmund in their own language."

Speaking about the new launch, BVB midfielder Ousmane Dembélé said: "I think a BVB homepage in French is an excellent thing. I receive questions from France on our day-to-day life here in Dortmund and our matches in all the different competitions on an almost daily basis. In the future it will so much easier for our fans in my homeland and many other countries in which French is spoken to keep up to date with how we are doing in all competitions."
