Borussia Dortmund have not lost a DFB Cup semi-final tie for more than three decades and are the only club to have racked up four victories in the Allianz Arena since the stadium was opened in 2005.

When Borussia Dortmund were last beaten at the semi-final stage of the DFB Cup, Eike Immel was still keeping goal and the Black and Yellows were in a battle for survival that culminated in victory in the relegation play-off. Since losing 3-1 away to VfB Stuttgart on 26 March 1986, BVB have not tasted defeat in a single one of the semi-finals they have reached in the competition.

The Black and Yellows have notched up three away wins in the league over Bayern (2010/11, 2011/12 and 2013/14) and one DFB Cup victory in the Allianz Arena in 2014/15.
