"What counts now is that we complete the job in Berlin," said a beaming Marcel Schmelzer, who had already turned his attention to the final. His team-mates were equally delighted. "In the end nobody cares whether we were fortunate or not. We've reached the final, that's what counts," declared Julian Weigl. Here we bring you the match reactions.

Roman Bürki: "It was a super performance from the entire team. We showed great spirit. That's not easy here in Munich, especially in light of the match almost three weeks ago when we were beaten 4-1."

Julian Weigl: "You need that little bit of luck if you want to win here in Munich. I think the decisive factor was simply that we always gave it everything, that we always managed to get a foot in and that Roman made some very good saves in goal. We knew that we would always be capable of making our mark on the game. And luckily we managed that. In the end nobody cares whether we were fortunate or not. We've reached the final, that's what counts!"

Sven Bender: "Mentality is always a key component in sport and we really showed how strong we are today. But quality counts too. We had an optimal combination of the two. We invested a great, great deal into this match. Of course we rode our luck in certain situations as well, but that's all part of Cup evenings like this. We are super happy and delighted that we have won and that we will be in Berlin again."

"…incredible clearance by Manni"

Marco Reus: "There was pure joy in the changing rooms. It was a very exciting match. Of course, Bayern had some very good chances, but fortunately they didn't take them. From around the 65th minute onwards, we had the feeling that we still had enough energy and could take the game to the opposition. Mentally, it was then extremely important for us to get the equaliser. All in all, perhaps it was not a particularly deserved victory, but we were rewarded for our excellent spirit."

Marcel Schmelzer: "We had the luck on our side tonight and in the end we were able to take one more of our chances. For the fans it was an outstanding spectacle with a lot of chances at both ends and a happier ending for us. The incredible clearance that Manni made deserves a special mention. If they'd got the third goal, it would've been game over. A big compliment to the whole team for managing to turn the game around tonight. But what counts now is that we complete the job in Berlin. That's our objective."
