Third place in the Bundesliga is within Borussia Dortmund's grasp following their 2-1 victory over Hoffenheim. There are now only two rounds of matches remaining. "If we take four points from our last two games, we'll finish third," calculated Marco Reus.

Marcel Schmelzer: "We set ourselves the target of continuing our unbeaten streak at home. We managed that and even got the full three points. We're very, very happy that we've succeeded."

Julian Weigl: "It was very, very hot. The weather made it very, very tough. The match demanded everything of us. Hoffenheim made it difficult for us; they had a lot of possession, which we're not used to. But we defended well and always looked dangerous in counter-attack situations. A 2-1 win is a fair result. The victory can give us a boost. Every single player played to his limits today. That makes us very tough to beat."

Marco Reus: "I'm slowly getting back to 100 percent. Today it was extremely difficult. All week long the temperature was between five and ten degrees, but today it was 25. It gets very hot here in this temple, so it was extremely tough. You can see from watching us that we were a little bit flat out there, but we dug in. It was a hard-fought success. Mentally, it was incredibly important to beat a direct rival. If we take four points from our last two games, we'll finish third. That's our objective."

Gonzalo Castro: "It was a tough job out there. We scored the goals at the right time and gave away hardly any chances. In the first period we only allowed them one opportunity, in the second half they didn't really have any. Ultimately, we were able to see out the 2-1 victory to the end. If we win next week in Augsburg, then the victory against Hoffenheim will have been worth its weight in gold." (gh)
