Thomas Tuchel was in a rapturous mood talking about Marc Bartra on Friday. In training, the Spaniard – who has largely recovered from an arm and hand operation – made "a save" that was reminiscent of "the one Manni made in Munich".

The player also received applause from his manager for a tackle on the touchline: "A fantastic tackle. He is confident in everything he does, and is not afraid of physical contact." The Spaniard could be included as part of the BVB squad for the away game at FC Augsburg on Saturday (15:30 CET), "if the authorities allow it", according to Tuchel. Tuchel has spoken to the team doctor, Dr. Markus Braun, about whether Bartra may wear the protective wristband he has been using in training for the game. Consequently, Tuchel was cautious in his choice of words: "If he is allowed to play, then he will certainly be included in the squad."

He also asked his team to concentrate, focus fully, "and to make all these tight games go our way. We have to win and defend our position in the table."  (br)
