With the sun setting and the impressive scene of Signal Iduna Park in the background, Marc Bartra on Wednesday evening posed for pictures on the roof of Borussia Dortmund's administrative offices wearing the new BVB away shirt for the 2017/18 season.

The spectacular setting was part of the global "Step Out" campaign launched by sports brand PUMA, who for the first time have presented 23 third and away kits for its football clubs across seven times zones under a common theme. The expressive shirts in dark, respect-commanding colours are designed not only to give the players and fans a cool style, but to inject them with the self-confidence required for an away match as well.

The new BVB away shirt comes in a jet-black look. Luminous yellow PUMA form stripes with an integrated graphic on the sleeves command attention, while other details in yellow such as the stitched PUMA cat logos on the chest and the arms as well as the BVB print on the back of the neck round off the design. In addition, the front of the shirt is adorned with the woven BVB club emblem as well as the name of shirt sponsor Evonik in white lettering, while the famous "DORTMUND" lettering can be found at the bottom of the rear side.

But it's not only the design that makes this shirt stand out. The high-quality polyester material ensures it feels comfortable to wear on the pitch, while the dryCELL technology developed by PUMA wicks moisture away from the body and the mesh under the arms serves to improve breathability.

Over 700 fans attend autograph session with Marc Bartra

"The new away kit is superb. The clean but courageous design exactly suits my tastes. I am extremely motivated and sure that we will make our presence felt on the pitch when we play away from home in this shirt," emphasised BVB defender Marc Bartra, who signed autographs for between 700 and 800 fans at the BVB FanWorld on Wednesday evening.

The shirt is already on sale in all BVB fan shops, on the BVB online shop, in sports outlets and on puma.com.
