Borussia’s U19 team have qualified for the semi-finals of the RUHR Cup International as group winners, ensuring their participation in Finals Day on Sunday at the Stadion Rote Erde (from 10am). Their opponents on Saturday (kick-off 3.40pm) at the Stadion Am Badeweiher in Marl will be Schalke 04. The other semi-final sees Real Madrid take on Ferencvaros Budapest.

Under joint coach Daniel Rios, the U19 team followed up a 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow with a 3-1 victory over Werder Bremen, meaning that two 1-1 draws against AS Roma and Ferencvaros in the second tournament stage in Holzwickede were enough to seal top spot in Group B. The two goals in Holzwickede were scored by Gabriel Kyeremateng (to make it 1-0 against Roma) and Jan Stuhldreier (to make it 1-0 against group runners-up Ferencvaros). (wiwi)

The match report will be published on the youth team page late on Friday evening.
