Fritz has so far officiated 15 Bundesliga games involving BVB (8 wins, 1 draw, 6 defeats). Last season, Borussia Mönchengladbach were defeated 4-1 at home under his stewardship, and he was present as referee for the 1-4 defeat away at Bayern Munich. He has taken charge of the Borussia Dortmund vs. Hertha BSC fixture three times already: in 2011, the Berlin men won 2-1 in Dortmund, while one year later BVB were victorious on the Spree, winning 1-0. The last encounter ended in a no score draw on 6 December 2016 in the Olympic Stadium.

Marco Fritz officiates for SV Breuningsweiler in the state association of Württemberg. According to DFB statistics, he has refereed 111 fixtures in the Bundesliga until now. He has been recognised by FIFA since 2012. (br)
