Peter Bosz recently announced his intention to rotate his squad and "use the players" at his disposal during the upcoming fixture pile-up, so it comes as no surprise that he has made wholesale changes ahead of the sixth competitive match of his fledgling tenure.

Mario Götze, Gonzalo Castro and Maximilian Philipp, who all started the first three league games, have dropped to the bench. Ömer Toprak and Jeremy Toljan have replaced the injured duo of Marc Bartra and Marcel Schmelzer in the back four. Another player making his BVB debut is Andrey Yarmolenko, who is joined in the starting XI by Mo Dahoud and Shinji Kagawa. Subotic has linked up with the squad after overcoming illness and will start on the bench.

The line-up: Bürki – Piszczek, Sokratis, Toprak, Toljan – Sahin – Dahoud, Kagawa – Pulisic, Aubameyang, Yarmolenko
The substitutes: Weidenfeller, Zagadou, Subotic, Götze, Isak, Philipp, Castro (br)
