The fans' praise was lavished primarily on the goal-scorers, but those who had "been involved in the build up to the goals" were also to receive the manager's acclamation. "In my opinion, it was a remarkable team performance", highlighted Peter Bosz.

Peter Bosz: "We played very well, both with the ball, but also off it. We didn't allow our opponent the time to string together more than two or three passes, rather won possession back for ourselves immediately. When we did lose the ball, our opponent had good chances. Roman was a stable presence there, though. Across the course of the match it was really a lot of fun to watch Dortmund play. The team should be lauded for playing as they did three days after the Hamburg game. The players who were involved in the build up to the goals also played a very important role. Therefore, in my opinion, it was a remarkable team performance that we showed here today. You don't win 6-1 against a well organised opponent with just two strikers."

Dieter Hecking: "We saw an excellent Borussia today – unfortunately from our perspective, the one from Dortmund. We defended well in the first 25 minutes. Nonetheless, for me, our game was already too defensive at that point. We gave them too much space for the first goal, there was a mistake during our build up play before the second, and the back four were indecisive as a unit for the third. It seems stupid to say this when you've lost 6-1, but we could have had five goals ourselves. We return home chastened by the experience. Borussia Dortmund were a class above today." (br)
