Hans-Joachim Watzke: "It feels good! Especially how we played today. We managed to score well worked goals against a good team. We are very satisfied."

Jeremy Toljan: "Madness! Late kick-off! A 6-1 win against a strong opponent. it doesn't get any better than that. We have got a lot of quality in the team, so we are able to rotate: we need to rotate given the high number of games. You can see that there wasn't any kind of dip in performance. The manager is able to pick and choose, and morale is good because everybody gets the opportunity to play and make his contribution to our success."

Mario Götze: " I could not have wished for a better evening. Up until we conceded and a few counterattacks, it was really good."

Julian Weigl: "I have always wanted to score in front of the South Stand and I'm overjoyed. The way the ball fell to me meant the only thing I could do was to take it on the volley. The incredible quality we have going forward was decisive for the win. And we also demonstrated that we have got quality and depth across the squad. Today, Maximilian Philipp played, while Andrey Yarmolenko impressed with his pace against HSV. That shows that we have got variety and are well armed for those times during the season when the fixture list gets congested. We need to concentrate a bit more at the back. We gifted Gladbach two or three chances. Fortunately, we've got Roman Bürki in goal."

Maximilian Philipp: "It was important that we stayed patient. We did not have clear cut chances at the beginning of the match, and were even caught out on the break, but luckily Roman stopped us from going 0-1 down. After we went a goal up, things got a bit easier for us, and then it went really well. From then on, our plays were good and we had clear chances on goal. The conceded goal tarnishes the whole thing slightly." (br)
