Julian Weigl and Christian Pulisic were also critical of themselves after the disappointing 1-1 draw away at APOEL Nicosia: "We didn't manage to work any clear chances on goal for ourselves."

Julian Weigl: "I had a good feeling at the beginning of the match, because we started the game well, were winning the second ball, and were aggressive when challenging for the ball. But what we did not manage to do was create chances on goal for ourselves. We had a lot of possession, but mistakes crept in again and again. We can't use the poor condition of the pitch as an excuse. We didn't manage to work any clear chances on goal for ourselves and get the three points, as such. Getting out of the group will now be very, very difficult."

Christian Pulisic: "It was a complicated game. Our conceding of a goal made things more difficult. We tried everything, but were only able to get a draw. We didn't underestimate our opponent, but didn't know it would be that difficult. We need wins now. We need to win every game now." (br)
