The third of Borussia Dortmund's four away matches in a row comes in Saxony-Anhalt, where they will face 1. FC Magdeburg, on Tuesday evening (20:45 CET). Peter Bosz is expecting an "intense match", in which the winner will secure passage to the last 16 of the DFB Cup.

1. FC Magdeburg, who currently sit second in the third division, were on an eight-match unbeaten home run in all competitions before they suffered a 3-0 defeat to SpVgg Unterhaching on Saturday. "I'm expecting an intense match, you could also say a top match," said Peter Bosz, continuing: "I'm expecting an opponent that will really go for it and be brimming with energy."

For Magdeburg, the 1974 European Cup Winners' Cup winners, it will be the biggest game of the year. Bosz, who once had a spell in Rostock as a player and so knows a thing or two about the euphoria that surrounds the sport in eastern Germany, is hoping to avoid a surprise and is underlining the importance of getting the win.

From the team he is expecting "lots of things that need to be done better, that's clear". One of the team's faults on show against Frankfurt, and in other recent matches this season, has been how they have squandered a number of goalscoring opportunities. Bosz said: "It's the minor details that decide a game." He continued: "We have a style of play that works. You could see that at the start of the season. We will not change our style of play. Should we manage to get the win in Magdeburg tomorrow, it will help the team out in the Bundesliga too."

They still sit top of the table, and travel to Magdeburg as the reigning DFB Cup champions.
