There have been a number of personnel developments at BVB between the matches in Frankfurt and Magdeburg. Four players – Marcel Schmelzer and Mo Dahoud (both starting XI) plus Raphael Guerreiro and André Schürrle (both bench) – will make their comebacks from injury when the Black & Yellows kick off their DFB Cup second round tie at 20:45 CET.

However, there are four new names on the injury list: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Julian Weigl both had muscular problems on Monday afternoon and were unable to take part in the final training session, as was Christian Pulisic (calf). They remained in Dortmund with Mario Götze, who has played seven games in the space of three days, having only recently returned from a five-month injury layoff. Ömer Toprak, Lukasz Piszczek, Marco Reus, Sebastian Rode and Erik Durm are all still unavailable.

The line-up: Bürki – Bartra, Sokratis, Zagadou, Schmelzer – Sahin – Dahoud, Kagawa – Yarmolenko, Isak, Philipp
The substitutes: Weidenfeller, Subotic, Sancho, Guerreiro, Toljan, Schürrle, Castro (br)
