BVB extended their winning run in away DFB Cup ties to 17 matches with a 5-0 victory over Magdeburg in the competition on Tuesday.

Deserved victory: BVB had more shots (17-7), more possession (74 percent) and a higher pass completion rate (86 percent of 653 passes in total) than Magdeburg, who only completed 59 percent of their 229 passes. However, FCM boasted the higher tackle win rate (56 percent).

Away run: Since losing 1-0 at Bayern Munich at the quarter-final stage in 2012/13, Borussia Dortmund have won each of the following 17 away DFB Cup ties (a club record), scoring 46 goals in the process and conceding only five.

Last 16: Borussia Dortmund have reached the last 16 for the seventh year in a row.

Off the mark: Having bagged four goals in the friendly rout of Erfurt, Alexander Isak has now scored his first competitive goal for BVB. The 18-year-old Swede also notched an assist.

Team effort: Ten different players have scored BVB's 38 goals in 15 competitive matches this term. (br)
